Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and LET US RUN with endurance the race set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Spur of the moment beach day!

The kids woke up and it was morning as usual( or so they thought). Chores then school. But Mat and I had a little different plan for the day. We told  the boys once they finished math we had something to tell them..... " Go get warm clothes on and a change of clothes... we are going to the beach!"

 It was a bit cold.
The sun made its appearance for a few hours
Daddy's nice warm fire kept us warm for the whole day
Ok so the show that Netflix has been streaming for us recently are any wilderness survival shows.. they boys have been LOVIN them.
No surprise at all right when we got to the beach the boys went in survival mode.
"Daddy you need to make a fire first so we can stay warm and cook our food"
"Next Shelter- so they went hunting for supplies :)"
 Gathering their materials for shelter
The boys were very impressed with daddy's shelter building skills :)

 See that big HUGE log...
Well that was mommy's idea.
I even rolled it half way across the beach.
My shoulder has been hurting ever since ;(
Oh and Note these aren't hotdogs- they are seal dogs that they caught ( according to my survivor boys :)

Ok so yes I said it was cold..
But did that stop them....
 Oh of course NOT!
Kaitlyn took a bit more convincing...
 I LOVE this
Kaitlyn is still lovin the" ballaleena" thing
Twirls and now bows every chance she can get!

Fully submerged and CRAZY I tell yeah!

Once again I LOVE baby feet... Makes me hungry just looking at them... But I don't think waking up a sleeping baby who didn't nap today is worth a little toes nibble right now :)

Zack finally convinced her to go in. He was so good with her.. melted my ♥

 Such good brothers..
Jayden did try to take in her in his way though and she wasn't havin it

Especially when she fell and got her hands dirty.....
it was almost a melt down that was adverted by a picture
My crazy water crazy BOY !!! He didn't complain about being cold at all. He is his father's son for sure

Zack getting warm  :)

The thing on Zack's head is a root from a bush that he dug up while "hunting"
We ended the day with a nice walk on the beach.. Finding whole sand dollars, little jelly fish
A live crab that daddy rescued.
Throwing back into the water before a seagull could get a hold of it

I am so thankful for my parents and Mat's parents who taught both of us the value of spur of the moment plans which make life long memories!

Last weeks visit to the pumpkin patch

Getting a picture is ALWAYS a top priority for mommy..
but not so much for the kids :)

Zack couldn't keep his eyes open for the life of him :)

Yep once again not into pictures :)
Last year 2010

This Year 2011

Last year we went to the same pumpkin path. Wow my kiddos really have grown

They gave a nice presentation on the life cycle of pumpkins and things that are grown by farmers that we eat for breakfast. I even learned somethings... like a pumpkin flowers won't produce a pumpkin unless it is pollenated by a male flower??? They rented bees to help with this process.

Look how much we have grown since Last Year :)

It was so warm at the pumpkin patch that a nice soft serve ice cream hit the spot on the way home

All and all it was a fun day at the patch!!
