Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and LET US RUN with endurance the race set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:1&2

One of "those" days

I could start off by saying that today was just one of "those" days. The day where I should be praying and thinking about every word before it escapes my mouth but am in such a frazzled hurried state that I don't have time to do that. The kind of day where the little messes, constant talking, and sibling squabbles completely overwhelm me. To say that I woke up this morning with a short fuse would be a slight understatement... Getting the picture of what "those" days looked like for me today... Well it all came to a head when the kids were all buckled in the car ready to go to swimming lessons... and I couldn't find the keys .....

Have you heard the song by Francesca Battistelli????

This is The Stuff
I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'Cuz I can't find my phone

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use
 So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It's not the end of the world
Oh Oh Oh

This song describes me.. my one of "those" days... My keys weren't lost in the "great unknown" however. I realized after looking for 5 minutes that they were in my dear husbands shorts pockets who is at work today... A quick phone call  confirmed their location. The kids were then unloaded from the car and I  reentered my living room and beheld the mess we had left behind. I then had to stop and thank my wonderful faithful heavenly father who had better plans for me today. For  me to have time to look at my bad attitude in the face and deal with it and to practice patience when I don't have an ounce of it.

So what I did next was put the kids to work cleaning their room while I thought about the new plans for my day......... What came to mind was being thankful for getting all dressed and ready with no where to go because now my dear hard working husband who has worked 76 hrs this week!!!! will come home to a wife tonight who is showered, has make up on and is looking presentable. If I would have known I didn't have keys to go anywhere today then I would not have bothered with a shower or even getting dressed.
Now I have time to plan a menu and my shopping list in order to make sure I am saving the most money this week instead of just heading off to Costco without a list  and just a vague idea of what we need (that was the plan after swimming lessons) I also get to go shopping by myself tonight when Mat comes home ( well maybe if that is what God has planned for me to do :)
I also now have time to put the laundry out on the clothes line instead of the dryer saving money too :)
My house is going to get cleaned today instead of Mat's 1st day off tomorrow ( more fun family time tomorrow)...

Lord thank you for being the faithful Shepard. Thank you for planning a better day for me than what I had planned. Thank you for giving me time to stop and see. Thank you for giving me a day to be home.
Ps 16:9 "A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps." I pray that you help me to see all interruptions as not interruptions but your perfect plan for my day!

Friday Funnies

This week our kids have kept us laughing. Mat and I tried to get a minute to cuddle on the couch while the kids played in the pool outside when Jayden upon walking in and seeing us pointed his 2 fingers at his eyes and then at us and said "I am watchin you two." Where does this child get his stuff is beyond me :)
Monday we were about to leave for the airport to get daddy when I noticed Kaitlyn sitting on the couch with little pieces of tissue all around her.... as I came closer I noticed her little eyes were watering... apparently she has shoved many little pieces of tissue up her nose!! Oh dear so I had to have to blow her nose while I stuck my little finger up there working the tissue out ( sorry that might be gross I know :).. I almost thought we would need to make a quick visit to the doctors if I couldn't get it all out but praise God we got it... Sad to say I think she might have gotten this gene from her mother dearest.... when I was about her age I put my mother through the same thing by sticking raisins up my nose she however couldn't get them out so we did have to make a trip to the doctors so I am told... :)

Zack this week at their first practice game got the game ball... I had to miss going so when he got home he was so proud to tell me !

It has been so good to be all under the same roof for a few days even thought daddy only had 1 day off before his return to work. Now Zack is getting his special time by himself at Nana's for the weekend.  It is my sister's 18th birthday today!!! I love you and am so thankful for you Tays!! She enjoying a day in the city with my sweet cousin Trin, Mom and Zack :) Yesterday I had the girls with me and we all went to the beach for a play day with some of our friends... What an adventure that was :) Almost got in a car accident on the way and they my friend got a huge splinter that the park ranger couldn't even get out. This kids had a wonderful time despite the crazyness :)

Today my mission was to organize my closet and I am happy to say that mission organize closet is complete! Ahh purging junk feels soooo amazing. My goal is to get all the closets organized by the end of next week. I am going to try keep my schedule open to be able to have time to meet this goal.

While Mat was gone my strategy for the week was to stay busy so the time would pass quickly and stay busy is what we did for sure... 2 times to discovery kingdom, sleep over with friends at our house, saw Kungfu Panda 2, swimming, park play date, t ball.. Wow by Monday afternoon we were exhausted but so glad to be able to go get daddy at the air port.  Here are the pictures from our adventures....

Kaitlyn when she sits down for a ride says " ok I am ready" like the whole ride is for her :) and then if it goes faster than she likes she yells " mommy stop it".. as if mommy is making it do that :)

It was so hot on when we took papa... Kaitlyn knocked out :)
My dear zacky while on the other swings in the park with his friend Elijah peed..... Elijah gets off the swing and asks why his pants are wet... Poor guy said "this is a day I want to forget" :)

Even though it was fathers day papa got the kids a present.... capes for each one :)
 Happy Father's Day Papa!!!

 Zack's swim meet

This was the effects of the busyness.. Monday afternoon while waiting to pick up Jayden and then get daddy Zack was playing the Wii... He feel asleep and was still playing :)

BEACH DAY

While Zack is at Nana's Jayden and Kaitlyn get to spend some quality time together... Picnic of their favorite... taquitos and watermelon on the swing set :)

This girl loves her elmos... this is how she took a nap
Oh and for part of  summer challenge to try 15 new recipes... tonight I am making for the first time a marinated cucumber salad and grilled stuffed jalapeno and bell peppers for dinner. Photos and recipes to come :)
