Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and LET US RUN with endurance the race set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." The adventures of the Petit's and the Crib

Who ever thought that buying a crib would turn into a crazy, freezing adventure that we will never FORGET!!!!.... But of course we should know by now that more often than not this Petit family can't do anything easy like going to the store to buy a crib.. load it in the car.. and then come home and easily put it together...... NOPE nothing like that... instead.....

I scourer grisliest for a crib. Saturday I find a beautiful crib for an amazing deal. Text the lady and.. Yes it is still available....  Set up a time Sunday late afternoon to go and get it. Everything seems fine at this point.

Sunday noon....
Mat- How big is the crib? Is it going to be disassembled?
Me- Oh I am sure but let me text her to make sure..... Oh nope it isn't disassembled but she said if you bring this tool it is easy to-do
Mat- Ok I guess that sounds find. I will take out the 3rd seat just in case.

Sunday 3:30......
Departure: Kids loaded all squished on the bench seat together.. a snack each... directions and an ETA of 5.

4:00.... As we enter HWY 37 all we can see is red tail lights for miles and miles... but we have to go this way since the bay bridge is closed.

5:00 Finally off of 37 which should have only taken us 15 minutes took us an hour.. We should have got the hint then... but nope.. on ward and up ward

6:00 stuck in traffic in the middle of San Fransisco! Who thought of putting a HWY right through the city anyways was a very poor PLANNER!!

6:15 Finally find our exit... Now to find the street in this very nice neighborhood with VERY badly lit streets and street signs

6:30 We finally arrive... Kids jumping off the wall at this point.. YES....
Beautiful crib is sitting in the drive way. I walk up.. pay and they say thank you and shut the door..... Remember the NOT lit streets.. well that doesn't make it very easy to take a crib apart in.. Not to mention having your boys running up and down the court yelling in this " EXTREMELY nice neighborhood!" Screws are falling on the ground. I used my cell phone as a flashlight to help us find them... And guess what..... One of the main screws is stripped.. Crib can't be taken apart!!!

Me- ok honey this is crazy let me just go and ask for our money back and go home
Mat- you had us drive for 3 hrs for this crib we are taking it now NO MATTER WHAT! Help me pick it up

Got it in the van. We had to un latch the bench seat and push it up against the front seats  but the crib still stuck out of the van half way!!!! We couldn't close the back! I sit in the bench seat with Kaitlyn and Zack (my knees are in my chest because there is NO leg room) holding onto the crib so it won't fall out and we drive to try and find a gas station.... Now mind you the streets in this city are like streets in SF..... STEEP!!!!
Time for a mental picture... Van- back open which means light inside stays on and beeper thingy keeps on beeping ( as if we didn't know the back was open.. thanks little beeper thing you are VERY not helpful!!) Me- Holding onto the crib for dear life... Mat- Not saying a word trying to strain to see the street signs to go back the way we came.. Kids- " I am hungry can we have dinner YET??" My feet are cold" "Wow this is an adventure" Get the picture.. We were a sight to see

7:30 find a gas station- mat goes in and comes out with nothing... no rope, bungee cords, duct tape NOTHING.. I guess in a town that doesn't even have a target or walmart the gas stations don't carry those things.. Finally after driving around what looks like down town Beverley hills with the back open and a huge crib sticking out.. We find a WALGREENS!!!!! Yeah!!!! The kids and I pray while mat went into the store looking for rope or something.

Oh praise God daddy is walking out with a bag in his hands!! WE HAVE ROPE PEOPLE! The crib gets secured and the back closed to about the half way point. Light still on.. Beeping thing still beeping, feet still cold, tummies still hungry but we are secure and ready for take off!!! After a detour and rerouting

8:15 We are on our way home!!! Music and heater get turned way UP....

9:30 Jack in the Box in Suisun ( we made it to our town) Daddy runs in to get food

10:00 Arrival! Praise God we made it and guess what.. We now have a $600 crib  we got for only $75 in our garage and a pretty good story to tell :)

My family has since said that I am BANNED FROM EVER BUYING ANYTHING OFF OF CRAIGSLIST AGAIN......

But just a few days ago I talked them into going to pick up a stroller.. but everything went very smooth that time so they have since said I have redeemed my craiglist buying ok :)

Will post picture of the crib once it is up in the room :)
