Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and LET US RUN with endurance the race set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:1&2

Hope as an Anchor

I have a dear friend who is going through a major trial right now. I have learned in the last 2 weeks how true 1 Cr 12:26 "If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together." The body of Christ is really a family and when one is mourning and carrying a heavy burden you too carry it. Not at all to the extent they themselves do but still you do. We are praying that God does a mighty work and that in the meantime we don't grow weary in praying and waiting on Him.

God used a few of the words from this book to encourage me.  ( Actually the WHOLE book was both convicting and encouraging! I would recommend it!)  The Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Set them Free By Nanch DeMoss

" Dear Child of God, your heavenly father will never lead you anywhere that His grace will not sustain you. He will never place more upon you than He will give you grace to bear. When the path before you seems hopelessly long, take heart. Lift up your eyes. Look ahead to that day when all suffering will be over. And remember that when you stand before Him, All the tears and sorrow of a lifetime will seem dim in comparison with the beauty and glory of His face. Without a doubt, you will say, " His amazing grace has brought me safely home."

2 Cor 12:7-9 "Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

"As a child of God, I will never face a circumstance that exceeds His grace. Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. When I am weak, He is strong. When I am empty, He is full. When I have no resources of my own, His resources have not begun to be depleted."

I have witnessed this in my dear friend. Her whole word has come crashing down, her life has changed in an instant yet she has hope that is an anchor. She is clinging to the promises like in Is 41:10 "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
God is truly upholding her right now. Her strength is gone but she is filled with strength that only God can give. It is amazing how in the past 2 weeks I have been there to try to minister to her yet I am the one who leaves feeling ministered too. Gods amazing strength has been on display through her. I am so thankful that despite all the ugliness of this world, the misery and pain there is hope that is found in Christ alone.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

?Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

I will stand, I will stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground, all other ground
Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I stand

When your world comes crashing down.... there is a solid ground that SHALL not be moved!!
