Guess what... Summer has officially begun in our house... I now have a 2nd grader and a Kindergartener. CRAZY! Well actually it offically began last week but I didn't have time to post about it.
Jayden has been saying at random times during the day "I'm a 2nd grader now" I think he is proud.. And Zack woke up a few mornings ago feeling like a man now that he is a kindergartener. I asked him what he want for breakfast he said he wanted a" mans breakfast.... Coffee, Tea,Cheerios and a man magazine (still can't figure out what he meant by that:)"
Now it is time to make a bucket list of all the fun summer things to do.... So that is just what the kids and I did.... on our first day of summer break.... They had fun telling all the fun things they hope to do in the next few months like....
Go to the Beach
Story time at the Library
Picnic at the Park
Eat ice cream for dinner
scrapbook
Farmer's Market
Play dates at our house
Whipped cream fight
Family dress up play night
Paint family room
Go to Canada
Slumber party at Nana's
Free Movie Day at the theater
eating contest
Family nature walk
Side walk chalk
Sleep in the backyard
Go to Oregon and see family
Discovery Kingdom
Finger Paint
Kids pick dinner night
Go see a baseball game
Water Balloon Fight
The Bucket List is actually more for mommy.. to keep me fun because I can get very routine but now I have this list and the kids who won't let me forget to be fun :)
I read this idea from another blog and LOVED it. Our own summer reading program. Every time they read a whole book out loud or for 20 minutes they get a token for their bucket. 10 tokens = a special treat. They were really excited about this..lets see if it lasts more than a few weeks :)
